[Break News Gyeonggi Nambu = Reporter Lee Hyun-jun, Icheon] The Jungri-dong Resident Autonomy Council in Icheon City held a residents' general meeting to share village agenda items and determine the direction for resident autonomy projects for 2027.

The meeting, held on the 4th at the outdoor plaza of the Jungri-dong Administrative Welfare Center, involved both advance and on-site voting to select the village projects for the coming year. The event also combined lifelong learning performances, the "Jungri-dong Happiness Market" (an outstanding project selected through a Living Lab contest), and a resource recycling/waste separation campaign, creating a festival-like atmosphere where local young small business owners and residents could prosper together.

This initiative is expected to serve as an opportunity to establish a foundation for grassroots democracy—where residents lead the process from policy formulation to decision-making—and to revitalize the local economy through the mutual growth of the village community and the local commercial district.
