시흥시의회, 무장애 도시 조성을 위한 연구 활동 마무리 간담회 개최

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=시흥 이현준기자] 경기 시흥시의회 의원 연구단체 ‘모두를 위한 디자인, 무장애 도시 정책 연구회’가 11월 18일 최종 간담회를 열고, 9개월간의 연구 활동을 마무리했다.

이날 간담회에는 연구단체 소속 김수연·박춘호 의원을 비롯해 시흥시 관계 공무원, 시흥장애인종합복지관장 등 총 10여 명이 참석해 무장애 도시 조성을 위한 다양한 의견을 나눴다.

연구회는 지난 3월부터 총 5차례 활동을 진행하며 문헌 조사, 교육 프로그램, 시민 대상 설문조사, 타 지자체 벤치마킹 등을 통해 시흥시의 무장애 환경 현황과 시민 인식을 종합적으로 검토했다.

간담회에서는 단기적 시설 개선뿐 아니라 시흥시 전체를 누구나 편리하게 이용할 수 있는 도시로 만들기 위한 장기적 전략 수립의 필요성이 강조됐다. 특히 고령화 사회에 대비해 도시의 가치·철학을 무장애 중심으로 설정해야 한다는 제안이 눈길을 끌었다.
