광주시, 제29회 노인의 날 기념행사 성황리 개최

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광주 이현준기자] 광주시는 2일 (사)대한노인회 광주시지회와 함께 광주시노인복지관 대강당에서 ‘제29회 노인의 날 기념행사’를 개최했다.

노인의 날은 경로효친 사상을 앙양하고 전통문화를 계승·발전시켜 온 노인들의 노고를 기리기 위해 제정된 법정 기념일로 올해로 29회를 맞이했다.

이날 행사에는 지역 어르신 1천여 명이 참석한 가운데 노인복지 증진과 지역사회 발전에 기여한 노인복지 유공자 26명에게 표창이 수여됐다.

행사에 앞서 광주어린이집 원생들의 난타 공연과 플루티스트 서가비의 퓨전 플룻 연주로 세대를 아우르는 흥겨운 분위기를 더했다.

대한노인회 임강빈 광주시지회장은 “노인 세대가 이뤄온 성취와 헌신은 우리 사회의 귀중한 자산”이라며 “앞으로도 경로효친의 정신을 바탕으로 세대가 존중과 조화를 이루는 사회를 만들기 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

이에 대해 방세환 시장은 “이번 노인의 날 기념행사는 어르신들의 노고에 감사드리고 행복한 노후와 활기찬 삶을 응원하는 자리였다”며 “세대 간 화합과 존경 문화가 확산될 수 있도록 다양한 지원을 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
