평택시국제교류재단, 한미 취미 교실 성황리 운영

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=평택 이현준기자] 경기도와 평택시가 주최하고 평택시국제교류재단이 주관한 한미 취미 교실이 올해 6월부터 송탄국제교류센터와 팽성국제교류센터에서 성황리에 운영되어 주한미군과 평택시민에게 큰 호응을 얻고 있다.

한미 취미 교실은 주한미군 가족과 평택시민이 함께 다양한 취미 활동을 즐기며 자연스럽게 교류할 수 있도록 마련된 대표 문화교류 사업이다. 올해는 도자기 페인팅, 민화 그리기, 치어리딩, K-POP 댄스 등 참가자 수요를 반영한 맞춤형 수업을 통해 높은 만족도를 이끌었다. 또한 지역에서 활동하는 전문가들로 강사진을 구성해 지역 인재를 적극적으로 활용했다.

지금까지 600여 명의 시민과 주한미군 가족이 참여해 언어와 문화를 넘어 소통의 장을 만들었다. 참가자들은 직접 만든 작품을 함께 나누며 성취감은 물론 교류의 즐거움도 경험했다.

평택시국제교류재단 관계자는 “한미 취미 교실은 함께 배우고 즐기는 과정에서 우정과 화합을 다지는 소중한 기회가 되고 있다”며, “앞으로도 시민과 주한미군 가족이 함께할 수 있는 체험형 교류 프로그램을 지속적으로 확대해 가겠다”라고 말했다.

재단은 오는 11월까지 평택 지역 특산품을 활용한 쌀·배 디저트 만들기, 전통주 만들기 등 다양한 프로그램을 이어갈 예정이다. 10월 10일까지 참가자를 모집 중이며, 신청은 재단 공식 누리집·블로그·페이스북·인스타그램을 통해 가능하다.
