경과원, ‘2025 GG 바이오허브 창업경진대회’ 성료

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=수원 이현준기자] 경기도와 경기도경제과학진흥원은 지난 23일수원 광교 바이오센터에서 ‘2025 GG 바이오허브 창업경진대회’ 결선을 열고, 유망 바이오 창업기업을 대상으로 기술력과 사업성을 평가해 우수팀을 선정했다고 24일 밝혔다.

‘광교 바이오허브’ 운영의 일환으로 추진되는 경진대회는 유망 바이오 기술창업 아이템을 보유한 창업기업을 대상으로 경연을 통해 우수 아이템을 발굴하고 성장 지원체계를 마련하기 위해 기획됐다.

이번 창업경진대회는 지난 4월 참가 모집을 시작으로, 전국의 3년 이내 바이오 분야 창업기업과 예비창업자들이 대거 참여했다.

1차 서면평가를 통해 기술력과 창업팀 역량을 갖춘 12개사를 선발하고, 각 기업에 대해 1:1 맞춤형 컨설팅을 진행해 완성도를 높였다. 이후 1차 발표평가를 거쳐 최종 결선 진출 기업 6개사를 확정하고, 이번 결선 무대를 통해 최종 순위를 가렸다.

결선에 진출한 6개 팀은 ▲줄기세포 기반 신경재생 촉진 상처치료제를 개발한하드사이언스, ▲비약물성 디지털 수면제·마취제 플랫폼을 제안한 ㈜슬리피, ▲무기나노스피어 기반 약물전달체 기술을 가진 ㈜엠피오스, ▲경구용 알츠하이머 치료제를 개발 중인 뉴로비비㈜, ▲심근경색 예방 데이터기반 조기진단 기술을 선보인 ㈜아슬론, ▲암전물질을 활용한 제약 패치·기능성 화장품을 개발한 ㈜커런트비앤씨 등이다. 이들 기업은 각자 독창적인 기술을 토대로 우수성과 성장잠재력을 뽐냈다.

이번 대회에서 대상은 ㈜엠피오스가 차지했다. ㈜엠피오스는 2022년 창업 이후 ‘무기나노스피어 기반 새로운 개념의 약물전단기술’의 집중 의약품에 필요한 장기지속형 약물전달 시스템을 개발해 왔으며, 국내 제약사와의 기술이전 및 공동연구 논의를 진행 중이다.

현장에서는 국내 벤처캐피탈과 투자기관의 심사역들이 높은 관심을 보이며 후속 투자 및 공동 연구개발 논의가 이루어질 것으로 기대된다. 아울러 ㈜엠피오스에게는 랩스테이션 2기 우선입주권을 제공한다.

김현곤 경과원장은 “이번 GG 바이오허브 창업경진대회를 통해 우수한 바이오스타트업 혁신 기술이 한자리에 모였고, 그중 잠재력 있는 기업을 집중 발굴할 수 있었다”며 “앞으로도 광교 바이오허브가 대한민국 바이오산업의 핵심 성장거점으로 자리잡을 수 있도록 후속 지원과 투자 연계를 강화하겠다”고 말했다.
