[브레이크뉴스경기남부=시흥 이현준기자] 시흥시는 7월 9일 시청 글로벌센터에서 ‘인천-경기시흥 바이오 특화단지 추진단’ 제2차 정기회의를 개최했다. 이날 회의에는 경기도와 인천시를 비롯해 대학, 연구기관, 병원, 기업 관계자 등 40여 명이 참석해 특화단지 간 협력 방안과 공동 전략을 논의했다.
‘인천-경기시흥 바이오 특화단지 추진단’은 지난해 12월 출범식을 개최해 양 지자체의 특화단지 추진 경과를 공유하고 향후 발전 계획을 논의했다.
이날 2차 회의에서는 특화단지 조성 진행 상황을 점검하고, 인천과 경기시흥 간기능 연계를 위한 배곧대교 건설, 수도권 제2순환고속도로와의 연계 등 교통 기반 시설 확충 방안과 더불어, 5개 특화단지 연계형 지원계획 수립, 공동 운영 전략, 지역기업 참여 확대 방안 등을 중점적으로 논의했다.
시는 연구개발(R&D)부터 임상, 생산, 수출까지 이어지는 전주기 바이오 생태계 구축을 위해 지자체 간 긴밀한 협력이 핵심임을 강조하고, 이를 뒷받침할 제도적ㆍ물리적 기반의 필요성을 제안했다. 아울러, ▲운영 전략 로드맵 수립 ▲혁신 주체 간 협의체 구성 ▲지역 바이오 기업과의 소통 확대 등 구체적인 실행 방안도 함께 모색했다.
