경기 더드림 재생사업은 주민 공동체가 주도해서 지역 여건에 맞는 다양한 아이디어를 제안하는 사업으로 기반 구축, 사업 추진, 지속 운영의 3단계로 시행된다.

사업대상지는 이천시 장호원읍 장호원리 137-번지 일원으로 2026년~2027년 2년간 사업비 14억 6천만 원(도비 6억 8천만 원, 시비 7억 8천만 원)을 투입하여 특색있는 가로․ 보행환경정비, 공실&지역육성 인력을 연계한 판매 거점 조성 및 상권 활성화 유도, 다양한 프로그램 운영 통한 유동 인구 증대를 도모한다.

김경희 이천시장은 “이번 ‘경기 더드림 도시재생사업’을 통해 침체된 장호원 터미널 주변의 상권 활성화를 도모하고 남부권 도시 균형발전을 기대할 수 있을 것”이라고 말했다.
