[브레이크뉴스경기남부=수원 오경희기자] 경기도의회 여성가족평생교육위원회 김재훈 의원(국민의힘, 안양4)이 5월 14일(화), ‘찾아가는 영어뮤지컬’ 공연 현장을 방문했다.

안양시 부안초등학교에서 진행된 이날 행사에는 경기도평생교육진흥원 오후석 원장도 참석해 학생들을 격려하고 교육 프로그램의 취지와 성과를 함께 나눴다.

‘찾아가는 영어뮤지컬’은 경기도평생교육진흥원 경기미래교육 파주캠퍼스에서 운영하는 무료 영어교육 문화 프로그램으로, 학생들이 학교 현장에서 영어뮤지컬을 직접 체험할 수 있도록 지원함으로써 도민의 평생교육권 실현과 교육 기회의 균등을 도모하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있으며 2025년에는 안양시 부안초등학교가 대상 학교로 선정되었으며, 이날 학생들은 원어민 강사들과 함께하는 영어뮤지컬을 생생하게 관람하며 특별한 영어 체험의 기회를 가졌다.

이날 현장을 찾은 김재훈 의원은 “찾아가는 영어뮤지컬은 공간과 거리의 제약 없이 모든 학생이 영어에 친숙해질 수 있는 소중한 기회를 제공하는 의미 있는 프로그램”이라며, “앞으로도 학생들이 다양한 방식으로 언어와 문화를 체험할 수 있도록 경기도의회 차원에서 지속적인 관심과 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 김재훈 의원은 경기도 디지털역량 강화를 위한 평생교육 지원 조례를 대표발의 하는 등 급변하는 시대에 도민 누구나 평생교육을 통해 변화에 능동적으로 대응할 수 있도록 제도적 기반을 마련하는 데 힘쓰고 있다.
