[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광명 이현준기자] 광명시와 광명교육지원청이 학교와 문화·과학 복합기능이 통합된 광명1초등학교(가칭) 학교복합시설 사업 추진을 위해 손을 맞잡았다.

시는 16일 광명시청 영상회의실에서 광명교육지원청과 ‘광명1초등학교(가칭) 학교복합시설 사업 추진을 위한 기본협약’을 체결했다.

이번 협약은 양 기관이 광명제2R 주택재개발구역(광명동 7-59 일원) 내 학교용지에 학교복합시설을 구축해 지역사회와 학교가 함께 성장하는 교육공동체를 실현하는 데 목적이 있다.

이날 협약에 따라 양 기관은 ▲학교복합사업 추진을 위한 대·내외 여건 조성 ▲자료·정보의 상호공유 ▲사업시행을 위한 마스터 플랜 수립 ▲부지 공동 활용 및 사업 추진방안 마련 ▲추진협의체 구성·운영 등을 협력해 나갈 계획이다.

광명1초등학교 학교복합시설은 학교와 단일건물로 1층부터 3층까지는 주민을 위한 문화·과학 공간을, 4층부터 8층까지는 초등학교를 배치하는 구조로 설계된다.

시는 이번 협약을 시작으로 오는 7월 교육부의 ‘학교복합시설 공모사업’에 응모해 국비(교육재정교부금)를 확보할 계획이다.

박승원 광명시장은 “학교복합시설은 일조권 문제로 무산됐던 학교용지에 대한 새로운 해법이자, 광명시와 교육지원청 간 유기적인 협력이 핵심인 사업”이라며 “조속한 학교 건립을 바라는 지역 주민들의 기대에 부응할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 광명시는 광명제2R 주택재개발구역 내 해당 부지에 대해 지난해 12월 ‘학교복합시설 타당성 및 기본계획 연구용역’을 완료했다.
