이번 협약은 기후위기 대응과 탄소중립 사회 전환을 위한 공동 실천 기반을 마련하고 지역사회 전반에 탄소중립 인식을 높여 실천 문화를 확산하는 것이 목적이다.

협약의 주요 내용은 ▲탄소중립 문화 확산과 실천을 위한 협력 ▲놀탄벨트 프로젝트에 대한 상호협력 ▲민관 협력 거버넌스 체계 강화 등이다.

박승원 광명시장은 “탄소중립 사회로의 전환은 공공기관의 노력만으로는 한계가 있다”며 “이번 협약으로 시민과 민간단체가 주체적으로 참여하고 협력하는 문화가 정착돼 진정한 탄소중립 도시로 나아가는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

홍석우 대표도 “놀면서 배우고 실천하는 탄소중립 문화를 시민 일상에 확산하고자 한다”며 “광명시와 협력해 탄소중립을 위한 다양한 활동을 펼쳐나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
