[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광주 오경희기자] 광주시가 17일 민‧관 협력 기구인 ‘광주시 여성 일자리협의회’의 위촉식 및 정기 회의를 개최했다.

여성의 경제·사회 참여 확대를 위한 광주시 여성 일자리협의회는 여성친화도시로 지정된 광주시가 지역 여성을 위한 일자리 발굴과 고용 촉진을 목적으로 운영하는 자문기구로 지역 여성의 경제활동 참여를 촉진하고 현장 중심의 실효성 있는 정책을 추진하기 위한 논의 체계를 마련하고자 민간과 공공이 함께 참여하는 형태로 구성됐다.

이번 회의에서는 여성 기업체 대표, 직업훈련 전문 기관 관계자, 젠더 전문가 등 다양한 분야의 신규 위원 8명에게 위촉장을 수여하고 지역 내 여성 일자리 관련 사업 현황을 공유하는 시간을 가졌다.

앞으로 여성 일자리협의회는 정기적인 회의를 통해 여성 고용 확대를 위한 협력사업을 발굴하고 지역 특성을 반영한 맞춤형 일자리 정책을 수립·추진해 나갈 계획이다.

방세환 시장은 “여성친화도시 광주시가 여성들의 일자리 발굴과 사회 참여 확대를 위해 여성 일자리협의회를 구성하게 되어 매우 뜻깊게 생각한다”며 “협의회의 활발한 활동을 통해 여성의 경제·사회적 지위 향상에 기여하고 실질적인 변화가 이뤄질 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
