[브레이크뉴스경기남부=이천 오경희기자] 이천시의회 김재헌 의원이 유니세프 아동친화도시로 인증받은 이천시의 위상에 걸맞은 아동 정책을 마련하기 위해 아이들과 보호자들에게 큰 인기를 끌고 있는 경기도 가평군의 ‘어린이음악놀이터’를 방문해 운영현황을 살폈다.

지난해 2월 '이천시 공공형 실내놀이터 설치 및 운영에 관한 조례'를 대표 발의한 김 의원은 다양한 지역 사례를 직접 확인하며 보다 실효성 있는 정책 방향을 모색하고자 이번 방문을 기획했다.

이번에 방문한 가평군 어린이음악놀이터는 ‘음악’을 테마로 한 이색적인 실내 체험 공간으로, 0세부터 12세 이하 아이들에게 안전하고 창의적인 놀이 환경을 제공하고 있다. 지상 2층 규모로 조성된 해당시설은 실내외 놀이공간을 모두 갖추고 있어 날씨에 관계없이 아이들이 자유롭게 활동할 수 있고, 놀이와 돌봄이 결합된 선진형 어린이 놀이시설로 평가받고 있다.

김재헌 의원은 “아이들이 안전하고 자유롭게 뛰놀 수 있는 공간은 단순한 복지 차원을 넘어, 아동의 기본 권리이며 지역사회의 미래에 대한 투자”라며, “직접 현장을 확인하며 이천시에도 아동 눈높이에 맞는 놀이공간의 필요성을 다시 한번 느꼈다”고 밝혔다.
