[브레이크뉴스경기남부=여주 오경희기자] 여주시의회는 11일 진선화 의원 주관으로 여주도서관 여강홀에서 '구마모토가쿠엔대학 페어트레이드 연구회와 함께하는 2025 공정무역 의정포럼'을 성공적으로 개최했다.

이번 포럼은 구마모토가쿠엔대학 페어트레이드 연구회와 공동으로 진행하여 공정무역과 로컬페어트레이드(Local Fair Trade)의 개념을 공유하고, 여주시에서 실현 가능한 정책적 방향을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.

이번 포럼에서는 구마모토가쿠엔대학교 신명직 교수, 한국공정무역마을위원회 김선화 위원, 여주로컬푸드사회적협동조합 손덕식 사무국장이 주제 발표를 맡아 공정무역의 의미와 로컬페어트레이드의 필요성에 대해 논의했다. 특히 일본 구마모토에서 성공적으로 정착된 로컬페어트레이드 사례를 소개하며, 이를 여주시 로컬푸드와 접목할 수 있는 방안에 대한 구체적인 의견이 제시됐다.

이어진 분야 발표에서는 진선화 의원을 비롯하여 박민혁 여주시지속가능발전협의회 사무국장, 박원준 여주농민영농조합 부장, 진재필 여주시외국인복지센터장, 이상휘 여주시 농산업 공동브랜드 활성화센터장, 아키요세 아유미 구마모토가쿠엔대학 페어트레이드 연구회 어드바이저 등이 참석해 각자의 시각에서 공정무역과 로컬페어트레이드의 필요성과 실천 방안을 논의했다.

특히 좌장을 맡은 진선화 의원은 "공정무역은 단순한 거래를 넘어 생산자의 권리를 보장하고, 윤리적 소비를 통해 지속가능한 경제를 구축하는 중요한 개념"이라며, "이번 포럼을 계기로 여주시에서도 로컬페어트레이드가 정착될 수 있도록 실질적인 정책 방안을 마련하겠다"고 밝혔다.
