최근 보건복지부의 ‘2025년 중독관리통합지원센터 운영 지원사업’에 선정돼 운영비와 인건비로 2억 5166만원을 확보한 데 따른 것이다.

중독관리통합지원센터는 알코올, 마약, 도박, 인터넷 중독자를 조기 발견하고 이들에게 상담, 치료, 재활 및 사회복귀를 지원하는 등 중독 관련 통합 서비스를 제공한다.

또 중독 예방 교육, 지역사회 협력 체계 구축 등을 통해 시민에게 건강한 삶과 환경을 제공하는 역할도 맡게 된다.

시는 센터 개소를 위해 처인구 모현읍 보건지소에 센터가 들어설 공간을 마련했으며, 지난해 11월 ‘용인시 정신건강복지센터 및 중독관리통합지원센터 설치 운영 조례’를 개정해 센터 설치와 운영에 대한 법적 근거를 마련했다.

시는 상반기에 센터 개소에 필요한 행정 절차를 신속히 진행해 오는 10월 중 중독센터를 개소할 계획이다.
