평택시, 반도체 산업 육성계획 수립 용역 최종 보고회

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=평택 이현준기자] 평택시는 ‘반도체 산업 육성계획’을 수립했다고 24일 밝혔다.

‘평택시 반도체 산업 종합육성 발전 및 클러스터 개발계획 수립 용역’ 최종 보고회에서 발표된 해당 계획에 따르면 시는 ‘인재(人才) 중심 AI·반도체 융합 선도 도시, 세계 반도체 수도 평택’이라는 비전 아래 ▲반도체 산업 집적화 및 지원체계 구축 ▲핵심 인력양성 메카 도약 ▲경쟁우위 소·부·장 체계 혁신 등을 추진한다.

또한 내년부터 2029년까지 5년간 반도체 공공연구기관 및 관내 교육기관 등과 협력해 11개의 중점 과제를 추진해 2030년까지 5개의 전략목표를 달성한다는 계획이다.

특히 반도체 인력양성을 위해 ‘평택시 미래기술학교 반도체 과정’을 내년에도 추진한다. 해당 프로그램은 올해에도 시행된 것으로, 시는 올해의 경험을 바탕으로 더욱 세분화된 과정을 운영하고, 협력 기업을 확대해 관내 반도체 기업으로 취업할 수 있도록 실습 교육을 강화할 예정이다.

또한 지역 내 반도체 학과를 운영하는 대학 및 특성화 고등학교들과의 민관 협력체계를 강화해 대학 교육 자원 및 시스템을 공유할 계획이다.

더불어 시는 ‘특화단지 연대협력 지원사업’을 통해 수도권 내 최대 반도체 연구·실증화 공공 기반 시설인 한국나노기술원과 협력해 관내 반도체 기업의 차세대 소재·장비 기술 제품화를 지원할 예정이다.

정장선 시장은 “이번에 마련한 종합육성 계획을 통해 지역 반도체 산업이 한 단계 도약할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다”며 “우리시가 가진 다양한 자원과 역량을 동원해 지금 우리나라가 처한 반도체 산업 위기를 극복할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 전했다.
