[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광명 이현준기자] 광명시가 11일 광명시환경교육센터 주관으로 ‘2024 광명시 환경교육 활동공유회’를 개최했다.

이번 행사에는 환경교육 활동가, 시민 등 100여 명이 참석해 올 한 해 진행된 다양한 환경교육 활동을 함께 공유하고 소통하며 네트워크를 강화하는 시간을 가졌다.

이날 어린이 탄소중립 뮤지컬 '탄소야 탄소야'로 행사의 문을 열고, 환경교육 활성화를 위해 노력한 활동가들에게 표창을 수여했다.

이어 올해 환경교육 활동을 이어온 단체와 기관이 다양한 환경교육 사례들을 발표했다.

발표는 ▲‘마주해요 누리봄’의 ‘폐건전지 환경교육’ ▲광명탄소중립시민센터의 ‘광명환경영화제’ 활동 ▲꿈마루 작은도서관의 ‘작은도서관을 거점으로 한 환경교육’ ▲광명시탄소중립센터의 ‘시민 대상 탄소중립 교육’ ▲광명시자원봉사센터의 ‘헌책업사이클’ ▲광명시민에너지협동조합의 ‘태양광발전소 설치·운영’ 등 6대 단체와 기관의 활동 내용으로 이뤄졌다.

또한 전시 부스도 운영돼 창의적이고 혁신적인 환경교육 활동을 생생하게 전달했다.

만드는박물관을 비롯한 7개 단체가 참여해 ▲커피박을 활용한 새활용 공예 ▲양말목 업사이클링 ▲환경교육 활동 사진 ▲안터생태공원 수업 교구 ▲헌책 업사이클링 등 직접 개발한 환경교육 교구와 활동 결과물을 전시했으며, 환경관리과와 환경교육센터의 학교 환경동아리 지원사업의 결과물도 선보였다.

그 밖에도 패들렛(Padlet)을 활용한 응원 메시지 작성, 환경 퀴즈 이벤트 등 다양한 프로그램이 열려 참석자들 간 연대감을 더욱 깊게 했다.

박승원 광명시장은 “이번 공유회는 환경교육 활동가들이 지혜를 나누며 발전적인 방향을 함께 모색할 수 있는 자리였다”며 “작은 손길로 큰 변화를 이끌어낼 수 있는 환경교육 프로그램을 적극 개발·운영해 지속가능한 도시로 나아가겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 광명시환경교육센터는 이번 행사에서 공유한 성과와 비전을 바탕으로 지역 환경교육 활성화를 위한 활동을 지속적으로 펼쳐 나갈 계획이다.
