경기도 교육청, 임태희교육감 '인성교육이 교육의 핵심 우선 과제'

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=수원 오경희기자] 임태희 경기도교육감은 21일 ‘2024 한·중·일 인성교육 국제학술대회’축사에서 “경기도교육청은 인성과 역량을 갖춘 미래 인재를 키우기 위해 인성교육을 교육의 핵심 우선 과제로 추진하고 있다”고 강조했다.

도교육청과 한국윤리학회가 공동 개최하고 중앙연구원에서 열린 국제학술대회는 첫날, 기조 강연과 경기도교육청 중·고등학교 학생들의 인성교육 주제 발표, 주제별 분과가 운영됐으며 이 중 세 개 분과는 경기인성교육을 주제로 ▲학교 인성교육이 갈 길 ▲학교-가정-지역사회가 함께 바라보는 인성교육 ▲미래세대 열린 시민교육 활성화를 주제로 현장 중심의 논의가 진행됐다.

도교육청은 성장단계별 인성교육 사례를 공유하며 경기 인성교육의 방향과 학교-가정-지역사회(기업) 3주체의 협력 방안을 모색, 미래사회 기업이 원하는 인재상과 기업의 고민과 노력이라는 인성의 중요성을 강조하며, 가정에서 시작되는 인성교육의 고민, 새로운 도전을 시작하는 학교의 노력도 소개했다.

임교육감은 “처음으로 일본 연구자들께서도 참여해 주셔서 폭넓은 학술교류의 장이 열려 기쁘다”며 “한·중·일 3국은 역사와 전통, 문화적 배경을 많이 공유하고 있는 이웃 국가”며 3국에서 공통으로 읽히고 있는 중용의 한 구절 ‘천명지위성(天命之謂性) 솔성지위도(率性之謂道) 수도지위교(修道之謂敎)’를 인용하며 “결국 천부적으로 태어난 인성도 열심히 닦고 그 길을 따라가도록 하는 교육의 중요성이 함유되어 있다”고 강조했다.

인성교육 성과 측정 지표 개발 연구에 대해서는 “경기도교육청이 힘쓰고 있는 증거 기반 인성교육 정책과 함께 학교 현장의 인성교육 내실화에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대한다”고 밝혔으며 ‘과학기술과 윤리’ 주제에 대해 “경기교육이 추진하는 에듀테크 기반 미래 교육의 방향에도 의미 있는 시사점을 제시해 줄 것”이라고 말했다.

마지막으로 “학생이 올바른 인성을 갖춘 시민으로 성장할 수 있도록 윤리학에 기반한 우수한 인성교육 연구가 계속 이어지길 희망한다”고 당부했다.

한편 이번 학술대회는 한국윤리학회와 공동 주관으로 한·중 윤리학회 회원, 일본 학교폭력 관련 연구 교수, 경기도교육청과 서울시교육청 소속 교직원, 예비교사 등 300여 명이 참석했다.
