성호학당은 2004년부터 성호박물관에서 운영된 서당의 별칭으로 명심보감, 대학,논어, 중용, 시경 등의 고전을 강학하며 다수의 졸업생을 배출한 바 있다.

이번 교육과정은 입문과정인 맹자강독과 연구과정인 주역강독으로 구성되며, 강좌별 40명으로 3월 3일부터 12월까지 학기제로 운영된다.

인문학에 관심이 있는 시민들의 배움 욕구를 충족할 수 있도록 강좌별 특강으로시작한다. 3월 3일에는 성균관대학교 한국주역대전편찬 수석연구원을 역임한 김병애 교수가 <성호학과 주역>, 3월 8일에는 단국대학교 동양학연구원 이승용 교수가 <성호학과 맹자>로 특강을 진행한다.

수강신청 접수는 오는 19일부터 전화를 통해 선착순으로 모집하며 개강 당일 참여 원서와 수강료를 제출하면 된다. 수강료는 학기별 4만 원으로 기초생활수급자및 장애인은 증빙서류를 제출하면 무료로 수강할 수 있다.
