평택시 공직자 대상 ‘디자인마인드 향상 교육’ 실시

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=평택 이귀선기자] 평택시(시장 정장선)는 ‘디자인 마인드 향상교육’을 한경국립대학교 평택캠퍼스 유니버설디자인센터에서 실시했다.  

시는 지난 23일~24일 이틀 동안 평택시 공직자를 대상으로, 평택시의 빠른 도시성장으로 인한 도시기반사업 증가와 초고령화 등 사회적 문제를 대비하여 도시디자인 인식확산을 위해 실시된 교육이다. 특히 이번 교육은 성별, 연령, 신체적 능력 등에 차별받지 않고 고령자, 임산부, 외국인 등 사회적 약자를 포함한 모두가 안전하고 편리하게 이용할 수 있도록 계획하는 ‘유니버설디자인’을 주제로 각종 시설과 꾸러미를 활용한 공간 및 제품 사례교육을 체험장에서 실시했다. 

교육은 한경국립대학교 유니버설디자인센터 곽성준 교수(유니버설디자인센터장), 정흥균 교수(제품공간디자인전공)의 주관으로 유니버설디자인 적용사례를 중심으로 한 강의와 휠체어 이용자, 임산부, 시각장애인 체험, 유니버설디자인 적용시설 견학과 자유토론 형식으로 진행됐다.  

교육을 받은 공직자는 “휠체어 이용자나 노약자의 물리적 제한요소를 직접 체험하니 도시공간에 대한 인식이 달라졌으며, 편리한 공간에 대한 개선방안에 대해 생각하게 된 계기였다”고 밝혔으며, 평택시에서는 “편리하고 쾌적한 도시형성과 밀접한 분야인 만큼, 공무원의 디자인 수준 향상을 위해 내년도 교육을 전 직원 대상으로 확대할 계획”이라고 말했다.
