20일 공사에 따르면 이번 행사는 지난 17일 임직원들의 지방공기업 경영평가에서 2년 연속 최우수 등급인 가등급을 달성할 수 있도록, 그동안 공사를 위해 아낌없는 격려와 성원을 보내준 시민들께 보답하고자, 노사가 뜻을 모아 경영평가급 끝전(1,627,630원)을 모아 지역사회 어려운 이웃을 돕기 위한 취지를 전했다.

공사는 이번 기부금 전달 외에도 지역사회 소외계층 등을 대상으로 주거환경 개선사업, 연탄 기부, 수재민 구호 성금 모금 등 다양한 사회공헌활동을 통해 지속가능한 ESG 경영을 실천하는 등 사회적 책임을 다하고 있다.

정동선 사장은 “예년보다 빨리 찾아온 추위 속에서 공사 임직원들은 언제나 시흥시민 곁에서 따스한 위로의 손길을 전하겠다”고 말했다.

이날 행사에 함께 자리한 곽난영 노동조합 위원장은 “직원들의 따듯한 마음이 주위의 소외계층에게 전달돼 따뜻한 겨울을 맞이했으면 좋겠다”고 전했다.
