[브레이크뉴스경기남부=수원 김정은기자] 경기도가 ‘더 고른 기회’ 제공을 목표로 과학 · 역사 체험 교실을 추진한다.

경기도에 따르면 올해 8월부터 11월까지 국립과천과학관 및 국립민속박물관과 협력하여 지원하는 대상은 지리적 여건 등으로 교육 기회가 상대적으로 부족한 접경 · 도서벽지 지역 초·중등학생 540명이라고 밝혔다. 연천 3개교, 가평 2개교, 파주 2개교, 양평 1개교, 포천 1개교 등이 선정됐는데 학교를 찾아가는 형식으로 운영된다.

과학 체험 교실은 국립과천과학관에서 지원하는 ‘과학관이 간다*’ 프로그램으로 과학강연, 과학 체험, 과학 마술, 과학 나눔 등을 3시간 동안 다양하게 진행한다.

역사(민속) 체험 교실은 국립민속박물관에서 지원하는 ‘찾아가는 어린이박물관’ 프로그램으로 모듬 활동을 통한 인형극 관람, 만들기, 직접 인형극 체험과 민속놀이, 전시 버스 체험 등이 4시간가량 다채롭게 구성됐다.

교육협력과장은 “접경지역이나 도서·벽지를 대상으로 하는 찾아가는 체험 교실은 지리적 여건에 따른 문화적 소외감 해소, 교육 기회 제공에 목적이 있는 만큼 꾸준한 지원 확대를 위해 노력하겠다”라고 말했다.
