보건행정과 의료 분야에 전문가 의견 반영…공공성 확대 기대

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이귀선기자] 용인특례시(시장 이상일)가 강대희 서울대학교 의과대학 교수를  특별고문으로 위촉했다.

24일 용인특례시에 따르면 지난 23일 진행된 보건·의료 분야 정책 효율성 강화와 관련 산업 육성을 위해 각 분야의 전문가의 의견을 듣고 정책에 반영하는 특별고문 제도를 올해부터 신설해 운영 중인 취지를 밝혔다.

시는 보건·의료분야에서는 정책과 기획기능을 강화해 공공성을 확대하고, 기초지방자치단체에 편중된 보건행정의 집행 기능을 효과적으로 처리하기 위해 강 교수를 특별고문으로 임명했다.

아울러 특별고문 위촉을 통해 디지털 헬스 정책, 바이오밸리 조성, ICT융합산업을 추진해 최근 용인특례시에 조성이 추진 중인 반도체 산업과 함께 바이오 관련 산업을 발굴해 시의 신성장 동력사업으로 육성할 방침을 세웠다.

강대희 특별고문은 비상근 명예직으로 2년 동안 시가 추진하는 정책에 자문 역할을 수행하게 된다.

강대희 교수는 서울대학교 의과대학을 졸업하고 미국 존스홉킨스대학교에서 환경보건과학 박사학위를 취득했다. 이후 2012년부터 6년 동안 서울대학교 의과대학 학장과 한국의과대학 의학전문대학원협회 이사장직을 역임했다.

이상일 용인특례시장은 “보건의료 분야에서 오랜 경험과 인적 네트워크를 가지고 있는 강대희 고문 위촉으로 용인시 보건·의료행정과 바이오 클러스터 등 관련 산업 육성에 큰 도움이 될 것”이라며 “폭넓은 학식과 전문성을 바탕으로 도시 미래 발전을 위한 좋은 의견을 제시할 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
