[브레이크뉴스경기남부=안산 이귀선기자] 안산시의회(의장 송바우나)는 오는 7일 제281회 임시회를 개최한다.

시의회에 따르면 이날 의회 대회의실에서 의원들이 참석한 가운데 진행된‘2023년 2월 중 의원총회’에서 안산시 복지국으로부터 겨울철 난방취약계층 긴급난방비 지원 관련 사항에 대해 보고 받은 뒤, 곧이어 의장실에서 의장과 부의장, 상임위원장, 교섭단체 대표 등이 참여하는 의장단 회의를 소집해 이같이 확정했다고 밝혔다.

의회는 취약계층에 대한 난방비 지급 사안이 시급하다는 판단 하에 당초 예정에 없던 의원총회와 의장단 회의를 개최하면서 발 빠르게 대응했다.

의회는 앞서 지난 1월 30일 제280회 임시회 제1차 본회의에서도 최진호 의원이 진행한 의사진행 발언을 통해 시가 특단의 난방비 지원책을 마련해야 한다는 점을 강조하며 이번에 시가 긴급난방비 지원계획을 수립하도록 이끌었다.

이처럼 임시회 개최가 결정됨에 따라 의회는 이날 7일 하루 일정으로 제281회 임시회 집회 공고를 했으며, 7일 오후부터 의회운영위원회와 문화복지위원회, 본회의를 개최해 박은경 의원이 대표 발의한 ‘안산시 저소득주민의 생활안정지원에 관한 조례안’을 의결하게 된다.

조례안이 통과되면 안산에 거주하는 취약계층에 난방비 뿐만 아니라 생계비와 전기 요금 등을 지원할 수 있는 제도적 근거가 마련된다.

조례안 따른 난방비 지급 시기는 2월 중으로, 지급 대상은 경기도 지원 대상에서 제외된 국민기초수급자 및 차상위 난방취약계층이며 지급액은 가구당 10만원 선이 될 전망이다.

송바우나 의장은 “난방비 폭등으로 경제적 부담이 큰 취약계층의 생활 안정이 시급한 만큼 의회가 초당적으로 나서고 있다”며 “난방비가 조속하게 집행될 수 있도록 앞으로도 시와 적극 협력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
