대장내시경 검사를 받던 60대 여성이 숨지는 사건이 발생해 경찰이 수사에 나섰다.

관련 고소인측에 따르면 피의자 이** 은 소화기 내시경 전문의로 수원시 장안구 소재 ‘연**내과’ 의 원장으로 근무 중이며 2022.11.15. 10시30분 경 위 병원에 내원한 피해자(1962년생, 여) 에게 대장내시경 시술을 진행하였다고 밝혔다.

피해자는 위 시술일 이전인 미리 병원에 내원하였고, 피해자의 대장 검사를 진행한 피의자는 피해자가 결장염을 앓고 있음을 진단하며 피해자의 대장 내 천공 발생 가능성이 높음을 인지하였다.

피의자는 위와 같이 피해자의 대장 천공 가능성이 충분히 높다는 사실을 인지하고도 2022.11.15. 10시30분 경 피해자에 대한 대장내시경 시술을 하며 같은 날 10:42경 피해자의 항문 앞 10~15㎝위치 약 1㎝의 천공을 발생시켰다.

피해자는 피의자가 발생시킨 대장 천공으로 인해 같은 날 11:27경 수원시 소재 대학병원 응급실에 내원하여 급성복막염 진단을 받고 입원치료를 받게 되었으나 피해자의 상태는 점차 악화되었고 내시경으로 인한 대장 천공을 원인으로 한 복막염 다발성 장기부전 및 패혈증을 앓던 피해자는 끝내 2022.11.23. 17:27경 심정지에 의한 사망에 이르게 되었다.

피해자의 사망에도 불구하고 피의자는 현재까지 어떠한 사과도 하지 않은 상황이며 유족은 결국 업무상 과실치사 혐의로 피의자를 고소하였다 현재 본건은 경기중부경찰서 에서 수사를 진행 중이고 피의자는 업무상 과실치사 혐의로 입건되었다
