[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 김정은기자] 용인특례시는 국토교통부가 주관하는 '2023년 광역 버스정보시스템(BIS) 구축사업' 공모에 최종 선정돼 국비 4억 3000여만원을 확보했다고 18일 밝혔다.

시는 국토교통부가 이 사업에 배정한 20억 가운데 가장 많은 예산을 확보했다.

버스정보시스템은 버스 운행 위치, 도착시간 등 운행정보를 정류장에서 버스안내전광판을 통해 실시간 확인할 수 있도록 하는 것을 말한다.

국토교통부는 지난 6일 평가 회의를 열어 공모에 참여한 12개 지방자치단체의 사업을 ▲광역연계 축의 타당성 ▲시스템과 예산의 적정성 ▲예산확보와 집행 가능성 등 3개 항목으로 구분하고 용인시와 화성시를 평가해 최종 선정했다.

이번 공모에 용인특례시는 화성시와 함께 참여했으며, 용인-화성간 광역 연계축을 중심으로 연결되는 버스정류장 100여 곳에 버스안내전광판을 신설할 계획이다.

이와 함께 버스정보시스템 프로그램을 대폭 개선한다. 지하철 등 타 교통수단 환승 정보, 기상정보 등 추가 정보 표출이 가능해진다.
