[브레이크뉴스경기남부=수원 한은경 기자] 경기도교육청 정문 중앙현관 입구에서 8일 오전 전교조경기지부, 참교육학부모회 경기지부 주관으로 "만5세 조기취학 철회를 위한 경기시민사회 공동기자회견'이 열렸다. 

교육청 중앙현관 입구에서는 학부모와 전교조경기지부 일원, 유치원 교사 일부 등 시민 단체 소속 20여명이 모여 점심시간을 넘기면서까지 기자회견을 이어갔다.

이들은 지난 달 29일 박순애 교육부 장관의 '만5세 초등학교취학 학제 개편안'을 포함한 업무계획 관련하여 반대의사와 만5세 조기취학 철회를 요구했다.  

또  "임태희 교육감이 저출산고령화 문제와 교육격차해소를 '만5세 조기취학 정책'에 대해 논의의 시작은 필요하다면서 '만5세로 초등 취학 연령을 낮추는 정부의 학제개편안'을 추진해야 한다는 데 사실상 찬성 견해를 밝혔다"면서 "정책철회를 요구할 것을 강력히 촉구한다"고 말했다. 

공교롭게도 이들이 기자회견을 한 동시간대에는 경기도교육청(임태희 경기도교육감) 방촌홀에서 '주민직선 5기 경기도교육감직인수위원 백서' 전수식이 있었다. 백서 전수식에는 임태희경기도교육감이 참석하여 인수위원들의 활동보고 및 정책을 담은 백서 전달을 받았다.
